New York Yankees and Wendy’s have partnered up for a great cause. Wendy’s is running a donation campaign called “Home Runs for Forever Homes” to benefit The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. To support this effort, Wendy’s will donate $100 for each home run hit by the Yankees throughout the entire 2018 season.
“Founded in 1992, the foundation’s number one mission: to increase the number of adoptions from foster care. Since 2004, more than 7,000 children have been adopted through Wendy’s Wonderful Kids® program. The children served by Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program are typically those who have been waiting the longest for an adoptive family. Some have never had anyone advocate for them to be adopted and have simply been on a track to age out of foster care at age 18 or 21, without the security and love of a permanent family.”
We dine from time to time at our local Wendy’s, so now that I have learned about The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, I am happy to hear we are supporting such a great mission. With Wendy’s affordable and fresh menu, it’s the perfect quick meal. I am excited to try out their freshly-made Southwest Chicken Avocado Salad. It has creamy avocado and Applewood smoked bacon. Southwest ranch dressing & shredded pepper jack cheese provides a little kick of heat. Every salad is topped with warm, freshly grilled chicken breast upon order and placed over freshly chopped lettuce and diced tomatoes. Perfect timing as the weather has started to warm up!
